This blog tries to encapsulate my life with my mother and the food we eat, I grew up with and the ties we have to it.
In September of 2017, I quit my job after nearly four years of work at three MNCs. I realised I could never sit still in a cubicle. My mind, like Walter Mitty’s, was elsewhere – lost among recipes, cooking techniques and different cuisines.
Through my food stories and recipes, I am trying to show why homecooked food is the best in the world, and why that seat at your dining table trumps any reservation at any Michelin-star restaurant.
The age-old recipes with my mother and grandmother drew me back into the kitchen – for good. Here is where I try and give my own twist to those methods and ingredients, all the while cooking with locally-available produce and every day store-cupboard items.
Come, join in on my quest to explore food like never before!
